Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book
by Richard_I incongregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.
i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.
the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

Crazyguy: "Just like Jesus the Bible will be used in name only and of course they can change the Bible more anytime they want to say what they want and the rank and file will eat it up."
Speaking of which, I've noticed that since Watchtower introduced the read scripture citations in the literature, less scriptures are being read at JW question and answer study sessions. It seems that many conductors are interpreting the presence of the read scriptures as being indicative that only those scriptures need to be read.
In the past, before the advent of read scriptures, conductors used to have more scriptures read during question and answer sessions.
But to stay on topic I think the Daniel Prophecy book is worse than the Isaiah books. And the reasoning book? The reasoning book reeks of the same kind of disingenuous PR spinning that guilty politicians use to save face in the eyes of the public during a scandal. It is not a christian publication. It is corporate public relations publication to spin JW beliefs and practices in a palatable way to the public, complete with false analogies, logical fallacies, dishonest definitions and cherry-picked information.

by Island Man inin this recent episode of the atheist experience "john from london" calls in to the show to give his arguments for god's existence.
matt and tracie use logic to point out the flaws in his arguments - very weak arguments!.
near the end of the conversation, john starts talking about the un turning on religion.

Vidiot, I think the new --Imitate--X Speculate Their Faith book currently being studied at kingdom hall congregation "bible" study includes attempts to debunk some of the arguments of skeptics. It is apparent that this publication has as one of its main goals, countering the increasing modern skepticism toward the fanciful stories found in the bible.
More and more young JWs are waking up and leaving, not just JWs, but the bible and theism period. The org appears to be attempting to counter this. This year's drama was also about countering skepticism.

Qualities that I love about Jehovah:
- I love that Jehovah told the Israelites that they lacked his backing due to Achan's sin only after they had gone out to battle Ai and suffered defeat and loss of lives.
- I love that Jehovah considered Lot, a man who was willing to hand over his daughters to be gang-raped by a crowd, to be a righteous man.
- I love that Jehovah behaves exactly like a mobster - offering to protect people from the destructive harm he will cause to them if they pay him off with worship and obedience.
- I love that Jehovah put his own glory and fame above the lives of the many innocent Egyptian children that died due to Jehovah's fostering of Pharaoh's hard-heartedness for the sake of having an excuse to inflict woes on the nation of Egypt to glorify his own name.
- I love that Jehovah, who is in need of nothing and can be harmed by no one, asks mortal finite beings to put fulfilling his wishes above love for their family and their very lives.
- I love how Jehovah is supposed to be a supremely intelligent, wise and moral being, yet behaves as a petty, jealous, insecure, narcissist, requiring that others worship him.
- I love that Jehovah told the Israelites that they lacked his backing due to Achan's sin only after they had gone out to battle Ai and suffered defeat and loss of lives.

Near the end of the conversation, John starts talking about the UN turning on religion. Only then is it clear that John is either a JW or has some kind of JW connection. But Matt isn't interested in hearing John's "conspiracy theory". LOL.
The show is more than an hour long. The segment with John's call is about 26 minutes long starting from about the 00:36:00 mark and running to about 01:02:00.

Damn Satan at it again tampering with evidence!
by notsurewheretogo injeepers...we all know that humans have only been on this planet for 6,000 years...stupid scientists getting confused again...must be that satan bloke who goes round fiddling with all the evidence that humans have been on this planet longer than 6,000 years!.
http://www.sciencealert.com/nasa-can-t-explain-who-made-these-huge-8-000-year-old-glyphs-in-kazakhstan?.
back in 2007, a series of huge, mysterious geoglyphs were discovered in the grasslands, or steppes, of kazakhstan.

Cool. This is what science is all about--being willing to revise one's beliefs as a result of new evidence.
In stark contrast to religions like Jehovah's Witnesses, who are all about denying evidence, tweaking facts, re-defining words and using foolish logic to maintain their false beliefs in the face of disconfirming evidence.

"When I say to someone wicked, ‘Wicked one, you will surely die!’ but you do not speak out to warn the wicked one to change his course, he will die as a wicked man because of his own error, but I will ask his blood back from you"
What is the principle upon which the one who failed to warn the wicked one, is held responsible for his death? Is it not the principle of not acting to help someone whose wellbeing is in danger? So this bible passage shows us that is immoral to do nothing to help someone who is in danger.
However, in the bible teach book, Watchtower argues that God is innocent of blame for allowing evil things to happen. They say there is a big difference between causing harm and allowing it to happen. Such reasoning is atrocious and contradicts the fundamental principle underpinning the scripture you quoted from Ezekiel.
A person who allows someone to suffer harm without doing anything to help them while having the power to help them is acting immorally. Therefore when the God of the bible sits by and allows all manner of atrocities to befall people when he has the power to stop it - he too is acting immorally. It is only logical. But theists can't admit this inconsistency.
